We leveraged 3D modeling to tackle the geometry of the building, used the process for material analysis, and assisted JGMA in exploring various facade options including the prismatic color shifting bright color. MDSI Design Lab other considered factors such as:
Material Selection
Evaluating the performance and aesthetics of different metal panels, as well as the
perforated screens over the curtain wall.
Unitizing
Analyzing the impact of various facade configurations including unitizing the frames
of the perforated screens from knife plates out of the curtain wall system.
Aesthetics
Refining the design to achieve the desired visual impact.
Cost Optimization
Identifying cost-effective solutions that maintain the project’s high-quality
standards.
Through close collaboration with JGMA, the MDSI Design Lab could contribute to a
facade that not only enhances the building’s visual appeal but also optimizes its
performance and sustainability.
